Our aim is to attract high-quality growers and producers selling the freshest seasonal produce and we welcome expressions of interest. Unfortunately we can’t accept every application. We already have a great mix of products at the market, so existing market vendors and product balance are taken into consideration.

Our vendors are local producers of food items within Otago. We don't accept any vendors selling craft-type products, or allow vendors to purchase products and then on-sell them at the market. If you are intending to make a food product to sell at the market you will need to have access to a registered commercial kitchen. You will also need to be approved by the Waitaki District Council before you can start trading at the market.
There is information online that can help you prepare to sell food items at the Oamaru Farmers' Market. The Waitaki District Council site has information on food control plans and setting up a new food business. The site of the Ministry for Primary Industries also has useful information on all the requirements associated with the sale of food to the public.
