Sarala is usually one of the first vendors arriving on a Sunday morning, bringing with her a beaming smile, a kind word for even the most chilly morning, and a van full of wonderful, fresh, organic produce.

Shiny yams, an array of crisp leafy greens, a lovely variety of potatoes, pumpkins, broccoli, daikon, freshly shelled walnuts (be quick!), free range eggs, home-made berry jam and more. The black raspberry jam is fabulous! Almost all fruit, it is rich and luscious and not too sweet. Sarala suggested that a teaspoon of it with hot water makes a good, healthful tea and she is right. It's good. 

During the more summery months, her tables are laden with freshly picked raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries and gooseberries. We can't wait for those berry delicious morsels to reappear! 

The Raspberry Cottage produce is grown without sprays or artificial supplements and using seeds sourced from her garden and compost from the market vege leftovers.  It's all grown on her 2 hectares of land at Waimate and sold directly to you from the Oamaru Farmers Market every Sunday.
 

We also love that Sarala is a great recycler and encourages customers to bring the egg cartons, berry containers, zip lock bags and jars back to be used again.

Call in and say hello to Sarala and her husband Sanjay and take home some of the freshest and healthiest veges and straight from the farm produce you will find in Waitaki. 
 

Raspberry Cottage is at the Farmers Market every Sunday, visit their Stall and treat yourself to some greens!.
